HERITAGE DEVELOPMENT

This project consisted of 230 acres of agricultural and residential land that was to be converted to a residential subdivision and also included an off-site utility easement.

The first phase of the project included the widening and re-alignment of an existing road, a new internal road, and the installation of utility infrastructure. Athena, formerly KS Ware and Associates, completed an initial boundaries desktop review, which included reviews of existing maps and other data gathered for the purpose of identifying potential wetlands, streams, other waterbodies, floodplains, and state- and federal-listed species that might be present on the project site.  Identification of these natural resources on the project site is required to apply for and obtain certain permits, including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Section 404 permit, the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) Aquatic Resource Alteration Permits (ARAP), and the General NPDES Permit for Discharges of Stormwater Associated with Construction Activities (Construction General Permit). Athena then prepared a report of our findings and recommendations for additional activities and permits.
