Athena recently completed our second Value Engineering study in support of Flood Risk Management projects in Johnson County, KY.
This project consisted of 230 acres of agricultural and residential land that was to be converted to a residential subdivision and also included an off-site utility easement.
Metro Water Services (MWS) is facing the integral challenges of reducing overflows from the combined sewer systems to meet State and Federal regulatory requirements, while expanding services to accommodate a rapidly increasing Greater Nashville area population. The CWWTP optimization plan would increase the plant’s ability for handling wet weather treatment needs, reduce combined sewer overflows and address a growing population in the service area.

Athena is under contract with TDOT to provide rock slope ratings for approximately 1,200 potential rockfall sites spread over a period of 4 years in most of the counties in Region 1 of TDOT.
The Central Wastewater Treatment Plant near downtown Nashville has a total treatment capacity of 330 MGD. In the past decade, Metro Water Services (MWS) has executed extensive enhancements to increase the plant’s capacity and improve its efficiency and odor control capability.
In 2017, Athena was awarded a 5-year, $25 million contract to perform Environmental Services at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Alabama and Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) in Louisiana.
